Value Investing Amsterdam

Hi, I’m Brandon Wijtenburg - a South African who recently swapped sunshine for canals and now calls Amsterdam home. By day, I crunch numbers at a Big 4 accounting firm. By night… I chase undervalued investments and run a small investment partnership.

I’ve been searching for a club here in Amsterdam that actually speaks “value investor”, and haven’t found one. So I thought, why not start it?

What does it mean to be a value investor? Here’s my take:

• Get more than you pay for – spotting opportunities others overlook.

• Curious – always asking “why” and trying to understand how the world really works.

• Independent – making decisions neither for nor against the crowd.

• Analytical & detail-oriented – numbers tell a story if you know how to read them.

• Humble – knowing the limits of your circle of competence.

• Patient – thinking long-term and letting time do its work.
